East Coast Studio
I have lived on the west coast for over half my life, but I will always be an east coaster at heart. Since I've been away so long, I've missed a lot of family time. You always get back for the big things, but miss out on the little things too. As time goes by, I'm realizing that those things aren't going to be there forever, so I wanted to get back more often. This where the idea for building an east coast studio was born.
Not only could I go back more often, but I could stay for longer each visit, get to do the little things and bring my ceramics to a whole new market. Win Win Win! So in the Spring of 2024, I officially became bi-coastal! I built a studio above the garage in my mom's 200-year-old farmhouse! It was a bit of a challenge coordinating equipment and supplies from across the country. Delivery of the kiln to a dead-end street was stressful, but we got it done! It was 100 degrees out the first day I arrived and yes, it is hotter above the garage. I got to spend a month with family, which was really a treat (no really!) and just what I had hoped this opportunity would bring.
The plan is to go out 3-4 times for a few weeks per year and do a Craft Fair somewhere within driving distance. I'm still new to the east coast market and am not sure where to find good shows to do. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to contact me and let me know!
