Can you believe the Geo Vase started out as a block of wood?? I use both wheel throwing and slipcasting techniques in my studio to get a variety of different shapes. The Wheel is the spin-y machine that I make round things on, like Round Fruit Bowls, Mugs and Vases. For slipcasting, I make plaster molds of things that aren't necessarily round, like the Geo Vase and Square Fruit Bowls. This way I can make things that you might not normally see made out of clay!
